with S.S Rajamouli. Rumor has it that the actor seems keen to cast this tall and dusky Andhra beauty in his next film. Vasuki, who was in news after clinching the Miss India Universe title, is regarded as the only Telugu born girl to have achieved such a feat. Now, if she accepts the offer she will also have to answer the critics that why no native girl is able to make it to the top in the industry. Will Vasuki accept or decline the offer? Or does she really have any interest in films at all?

No film with Pawan, says Rajamouli

There were rumors making the air about the most anticipated, yet to be started film between Rajamouli and Pawan Kalyan. This news made everybody go gaga and created lot of buzz in the industry. But, there seems to be some concern over the authenticity of this information.Director Rajamouli, in twitter recently posted that he is not doing any film with Pawan Kalyan garu. He further threw the ball in to Pawan Kalyan's court by adding "I am aware of the epic proportions of the project. But as I said many times earlier it is not in my hands alone. This seems like that audience have to wait longer to see a crazy combination on screen.

 Puri couldn't be happier

Amitabh Bachchan, who was seen as the bold and flamboyant role of an old man who feels young, received a letter from the Academy, requesting him for the script of BHTP. The actor recently posted on Twitter, And now BHTP in Oscar's library."It is a great pleasure to hear the news from Amitabji himself. I prepared Bbudah script as Amitabh's huge fan. So, I am so happy that the script gains this much honor," Puri said.

Dhada, now a game:

Dhada, now a game:

  • Naga Chaitanya is happy and busy at the same time. He is happy because the music of his soon-to-be- released film Dhada is doing exceptionally well; he is busy because in few days from today, he will launch the movie game of his new film, Dhada.

Sources reveal that this one type of PR stunt, to not to leave stones unturned and create maximum hype. It is also said that like Hollywood, Bollywood and Tollywood are deviating from their archaic style of promoting and adapting newer and creative way of promoting their films.

The game is designed and will be launched by Hungama Digital Media Entertainment. Sources reveal that the lead character in the game is inspired by the character played by Naga Chaitanya in the film. But, after the lukewarm response of the game based on the film, Brahmi Gaadi Katha', it is too soon to say whether this move by Tollywood is successful or not.

Shruti Hassan, what is she up to?
  • Shruti Hassan, daughter of Kamal Haasan, is all geared up to impress her dad and mentor. With already a strong foot in Tollywood, this cat-eyed beauty has three flicks lined up- 'Oh my friend with Siddarth', Gabbar Singh with Pawan Kalyan and an untitled with Junior N.T.R.

But the actress denies the statement that she is not bound for Tollywood. She says, I'm a nomad and
wherever my work takes me I go there. This time it's Tollywood.

Shruti in fact, has lost her heart to the Nawabi city. "I've fallen in love with Hyderabad. It's an incredibly warm and amazing city. And most importantly, it's so clean," she says. While there's no stopping Shruti when conversations revolve around her work, mention on her personal life and the actress gets fiercely protective about her privacy. Be it about her living in with her beau Siddarth or on controversies surrounding him in the industry, Shruti is tight-lipped.

She says "I don't feel the need to set things straight with anyone. I understand that there is a huge interest in anybody's personal life and not just celebs'. As Indians, we always want to know what our neighbors are up to. Is this an indication that the actress has moved base to Tollywood? What is she up to?
Bunny in Bollywood!

Allu Arjun may soon be seen in a Yash Raj film, if all goes well, to portray a brawny hero role. Sources reveal that, Allu Arvind- father of Allu Arjun, using his influence has finally got his son much needed break in Bollywood.Arjun, most popular in Tollywood and Kollywood, needs to prove his forte to find a permanent place in Bollywood. Although blessed with muscular packs, this lad has a limitation- his height. After RaNa and Sundeep Kishen, can Allu Arjun prove to be successful? We have to wait and see.

With just one film in Tamil and a few in Telugu, Taapsee Pannu might appear as a novice actress,
but film patrons strongly believe that she has a long way to go, after watching her performance
in 'Aadukalam'.

The actress, who is currently busy with another Tollywood project 'Mogudu', is also occupied with post production work on 'Vandhaan Vendraan', opposite Jiiva. The film's audio which was released recently, has already created ample buzz in the industry, and the track 'Anjana Anjana', is already a chartbuster.

This year also marks the actress foray into Bollywood, beginning with the remake of 'Chashme Baddoor', to go on floors this October. Is it the lady luck shining on Taapsee, or is she really so talented?

Why Rajamouli Started Eega Movie

rajamouli images, rajamouli pics, rajamouli photos, rajamouli stills, rajamouli, rajamouli wallpapersAny ideas why Telugu cinema director Rajamouli is making Eega Telugu cinema? Or do you know what prompted this mega director to make Eega movie? Run your eyes through this...

When Rajamouli was making Magadheera with Ram Charan Tej, he has many Tollywood biggies visiting the sets of Magadheera. One day, a mega producer Allu Aravind challenged Rajamouli on the sets of Magadheera saying that anyone can make blockbusters with stars, but a real director is the one who can deliver hits through comedian.

Rajamouli felt offended and took this heart and incidentally he met Sunil on the same sets after some time it seems. When Rajamouli saw Sunil, he remembered Allu Aravind's words and immediately he okayed Sunil for the script of Maryada Ramanna and delivered a hit.

After Maryada Ramanna, Rajamouli once again met Allu Aravind and this time the mega producer said that Sunil is a good artiste and a great performer and making a successful film with Sunil is not great. A miffed Rajamouli then decided to make movie with animals and prove. After some time, Rajamouli then decided to make a movie with Eega, which is currently under production. So guys, guess you might have understood as to why Rajamouli is making Eega.

It is known that enthusiastic guys keep morphing film posters with comedians like Brahmanandam. Freshly the poster of 'Dhada' is morphed this way with Brahmanandam's face and the title 'Vada'. Although everyone knows that it's morphed in low standards, it's circulating in internet faster for the humor quotient in it.

It is often seen that many cine folks keep boasting about the legacy of Telugu cinema industry and they cling on to the glory of N T Rama Rao and others.
But all said and done, the underlying truth is, the hero circuit is filled with bloated egos, false pride, hollow performance and focus on image saving.
This is the case with the new age heroes and there are no two words in saying that when compared to their contemporaries from other circuits, especially Tamil, our Telugu heroes should hang their heads in shame.

Without a second thought, one look at Kollywood circuit will bring about names of Vishal, Vikram, Suriya, Sasi Kumar, Cheran etc.
The kind of performances they are delivering and the challenge they give to themselves as actors, has that happened even once in Telugu? The best that I can recall is Kamal Haasan in ‘Swathi Muthyam’. After that, it has always been about mass masala entertainers, illogical punch dialogues and devotion towards entertainment for front bench audience.

The so-called big league directors like V V Vinayak, Boyapati Seenu etc are nothing but simple formula cinema directors. It is not about what the essence of a cinema is, it is only about budget, box office and publicity. The scene is no good with the heroes. All they look for is roles that can make them get worshipped by audience. That’s why, there is a chalk and cheese difference between Tollywood and Kollywood.

And it is not just the Tamil circuit, the new wave of film makers who are foraying into Bollywood, Malayalam and Bengali circuits and the concepts of their films are mind-blowing.
But we are still stuck with those raunchy comedies, Tata Sumos flying in air, one axe wielding hero chopping goons like mince meat, heroines and their navels.
What is written here may not go well with the pride filled Telugu heroes but here is a simple test- can one hero do a role like what Vishal did in ‘Vaadu Veedu’? or like what Vikram did in ‘Naanna’? or for that matter, what Suriya is about to offer with his ‘Ezhaam Arivu’?

Always crapping about glamour and admiration seems to have become the staple diet for our heroes. Truth is, a hero is the person who leads the fans and not vice versa. He should be more of a performer who sets an example for his admirers and not put conditions on the directors and writers to come up with scripts that will show them in ivory towers. There is a lot of cribbing happening about poor economic situation of Tollywood box office. Well, as long as heroes and directors keep churning out these tasteless flicks, Telugu cinema will never improve. This is no rocket science, it is pure common sense.

Get a glimpse of the first look of Gopichand starrer Mogudu movie. Directed by Krishna Vamsi and co-starring Taapsee, Mogudu Telugu movie is produced by Nallamalapu Bujji under Lakshmi Narasimha Productions. Gopichand looks handsome in this Mogudu poster and the still also looks wee bit stiff - perhaps this time around the hero is trying to lure the family audience with some melo-drama and  action. Yesteryear actor Dr Rajemdra Prasad is playing Gopichand's father in this movie, which is set in the backdrop of marriage system and procedure.

Telugu film 'Vanaja' housefull at Locarno fest
  • Locarno (Switzerland), Aug 6 (IANS) After travelling to 32 film festivals, Telugu film "Vanaja", a tale of a 15-year-old girl's dream of becoming a world class Kuchipudi dancer, was screened here Saturday and went housefull. Director Rajneesh Domapalli says he may soon have it released in theatres in India.

"I made 'Vanaja' in 2005 as my master thesis at the Columbia University. My film had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and in 2007 it won the best debut award at the Berlin Film Fest. I released the film in theatres in the US and South Africa and I will soon release it in India," Domapalli told IANS.

Set in rural Andhra Pradesh of the 1960s, the film that explores the chasm that divides classes as a young girl struggles to come of age was screened in the Open Doors section at the ongoing 64th Locarno International Film Festival.

In the film, Vanaja (Mamatha Bhukya), daughter of a low caste fisherman who is struggling to make ends meet, goes to work in the house of the local landlady, Rama Devi (Urmila Dammannagari), in hopes of learning Kuchipudi dance while earning her keep.

How her dreams are left unfulfilled after the arrival of her employer's son is told in a very subtle but effective manner by the director who says he isn't trying to give any message through the film.

"I have woven the threads into the story - gender issue, caste system and clash of old and modern. My film also tells what happens when boundaries that should not be crossed are crossed," said Domapalli who has made it with non-actors whom he handpicked from the middle class families.

"I took people from middle class families. They had acting training for one to two years. The lead didn't know Kuchipudi dance and she had to learn it from scratch," said the director who has managed to extract the best from his cast.

All the actors look natural on screen and their performances make it an interesting watch.

The director describes it as a low budget film and added: "For art house film making inroads in India takes going up against commercial establishments and quite a lot of money."

His next will be "Avani", but before making the film he will release it as a novel and use the money earned from its sales in the making of the movie.

"'Avani's' screenplay is over and bits of novel have also been written. I am writing another novel on young adult fantasy that uses a 14-year-old as protagonist and is set across three worlds."
